Doctoral in Political Science

The curriculum for the Political Science Doctoral Program in its development is part of the harmony between the vision, mission, targets and objectives of the education implementation process at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences and specifically in the Political Science Program (S1) and the Master of Political Science Program (S2). This curriculum conformity aims to strengthen the academic quality assurance system that has been implemented at the study program, department, faculty and university levels.
The preparation of the Political Science Doctoral Program curriculum also takes into account the demands and needs of stakeholders, because the existing graduates not only function in creating alumni, but also take into account the real needs of the job market they wish to address. This is reflected in the graduate profile which is always used as a benchmark in formulating the desired competencies.
Based on these considerations, the learning process of the Political Science Doctoral study program is attempted to produce doctoral graduates who have the ability to analyze using a Political Science perspective in local, national and global studies, so that it will enrich political studies which are normative, critical and contemporary ideals. In this case, political science doctoral graduates follow the curriculum process and structure developed based on the Indonesian National Curriculum Framework (KKNI) at level 9 (nine) where learning outcomes at this level are oriented towards students’ ability to deepen political science accompanied by increased research ( research) which is multi-transdisciplinary in nature. In this way, graduates of the Political Science doctoral program are expected to be able to master scientific philosophy, especially in Political Science and the ability to synergize it with other social sciences. The Political Science Doctoral Program curriculum is structured around the principle of learning outcomes which must be reflected in the dimensions of attitudes, general skills, special skills and knowledge. The curriculum is prepared based on the needs of the proposed learning outcomes in several courses developed based on the Hasanuddin University Chancellor’s Regulation Number 2785/UN4.1/KEP/2018 concerning the Implementation of the Hasanuddin University Doctoral Program. The provisions are: 9 credits of mandatory study program subjects; 13 credits of skills supporting elective courses; Seminar Research Proposal Dissertation 2 credits; Publishing SCOPUS indexed or reputable journals 5 credits; Presentation of scientific papers at international seminars related to dissertation research 3 credits; Seminar on dissertation research results 4 credits; and Dissertation and dissertation examination 12 credits. To meet local needs, supporting courses are taken which can reflect the conditions of maritime society and are in line with the characteristics of the university which promotes the maritime spirit as its main scientific pattern.

  • Educate, develop and develop Doctoral study program participants so that they have theoretical, methodological and practical conceptual skills in the field of politics.
  • Studying and developing political science with an Indonesian and global perspective through research activities as well as developing practical and professional skills through community service activities in order to build ethical and moral political behavior.
  • Developing innovative political science with an interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approach towards developing a new paradigm.
  • Evaluate and develop the study program curriculum continuously and sustainably to adapt to the needs of society and developments in political science and be oriented towards national education quality standards
